About

How I got here, written as the image that builds me. Read it top to bottom: each instruction is a layer, and each layer builds on the one before.

Dockerfile · 10 instructions

  1. Where it started.

FROM [TODO: starting point: city / country, year you started programming]

  2. Everything below is built here, in public.

    WORKDIR /home/benedicto

  3. Backend first. Go, for explicit errors, small binaries and servers that stay predictable under load.

    RUN go build ./backend/...

  4. Then the interface around it: Next.js routes, forms that show what the backend actually did.

    RUN npx create-next-app --typescript --app

  5. Real constraints: loans, payments and approvals that must agree on one financial state. Retries, idempotency, ownership of state transitions.

    COPY client-work/mugec ./experience/

  6. Fundamentals rebuilt from the ground up: C, memory, algorithms, SQL. In progress.

    RUN cs50x --week 7

  7. Writing down what broke and why, so the lesson outlives the bug.

    COPY notes/*.md ./notes/

  8. Defaults that every later layer inherits.

    ENV TONE="precise" LEARNING="in public"

  9. Open to work and conversations. See /contact.

    EXPOSE 443

  10. What runs when the container starts.

    CMD ["build", "--ship", "--learn"]

docker exec -it portfolio shesc to close
